Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I will break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will really want to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
Despite those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Fury - and rejected a ÂŁ1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, consistently making substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As both boxers participated in the customary confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really going ahead.
